this quote is saying that you always have to do the right thing no matter what. For example, if the school rule is to wear your uniform everyday even if everyone hates it then you still have to wear your uniform. Another example is if the teacher says you can't listen to music during class but everyone wants to  do it while doing work, then it doesn't mean you can do it because the teacher still said no. You always have to be doing the right thing even if you're doing it alone. Its always better to choose the right and have good consequences than to have repercussions.
