vet

Veterinarian
Duties and Responsibilities: Veterinarians administer vaccines, do health check-ups, clean teeth, fix broken bones, treat skin infections and perform surgeries. Vet’s also involve inspecting the living spaces of animals on farms or ranches to ensure that they are free from possible sources of infection.

Salary: $50,036-$101,057

Education: First step to becoming a vet is attending undergraduate school. Coursework should focus heavily on the biological and physical sciences, such as chemistry, genetics, microbiology and physiology. Studies in communication, social science, humanities, and mathematics are beneficial for the transition into vet school. Applying to veterinary school requires to take a  college admissions test. Students must complete 4 years of veterinary school. The first two years mainly focus on basic science education in the classroom and laboratory. The final two years consist of clinical instruction, allowing students to gain hands-on experience diagnosing and treating animals with the supervision of a licensed vet. Fourth year solely focuses on clinical rotations in animal hospitals and private practice.

Demand for this particular career: the demand for veterinarians isn’t very high because there isn’t much work for them to begin with.

Reflection: I definitely want to be a veterinarian because the career interest me a lot and i would love to work with animals.
