Presidents day is a national holiday in which the american people celebrate all the presidents past and present. It is in February on the 3rd Monday. Presidents day was created to celebrate George Washington's birthday on February 22nd but in 1975 it was moved to Monday in order to create a 3-day weekend for the nations workers. Presidents Day is used by many patriotic and historical groups as a date for staging celebration, reenactments, and other events. Some states also require public schools to teach about the accomplishments of the presidents, often focusing on the lives of Washington and Lincoln.
