lies

"When you tell one lie,
 it leads to another"
-Paul Hatch

This quote means that one lie can turn into a bunch of other lies. Lying one time is bad but when you tell a whole bunch of lies you make it worse for yourself. People can sometimes tell if a person is lying so if you get in trouble and tell a whole bunch of lies that don't add up, then your punishment could be worse than if you had told the truth. For example, if your parent got you in trouble and they ask you something and you lie over and over again, they could ground you for a longer time than if you told the truth. You might still get in trouble if you're honest but its always better than to lie. Even if you're not in trouble and you lie to a person, they would rather have you be honest to them. Lying makes people lose their trust in you. It always better to be a trustworthy person than to be a liar.
