word of honor

“I’ve been asked what i mean by “word of honor.” I will tell you. Place me behind prison walls-- walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-- there is a possibility that in some way or another i might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor but draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can i get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first” - Karl G. Maeser

This is a good quote because it teaches to be trustworthy. Someone may escape the prison but can never cross a chalk line because he gave his word of honor. It’s important if someone gives their word of honor because that means they have to keep it. A word of honor can teach you a lot about a person on whether you can trust them or not. If they keep it that means they are a good person that you should be around. If they don’t then you know not to trust them if they make a certain promise. Always keep your word of honor because that shows that you have integrity and dignity. Always ctr and keep your word of honor because that will get you far in life.
